"Mrs. Rosilla Calista Chapman, daughter of Thomas Whitcomb & Anna Wentworth, who settled on the Belcher Farm now owned by George Stearns in the fall of 1816, was born on the Pratt Farm the following spring. She would have been 73 years old on May 25 next. She was great-grandaughter of Colonel Asa Whitcomb, a captain in the French Wasr and later served in the Revolution at Ticonderoga and Crown Point. Mrs. chapman married Friend Chapman by Rev. Warren Skinner in 1836..."249 |
