| "Marcellus News. Obituary Lemuel P. Chapman. Mr. Chapman md Mar 1 1849 Miss Julania Dela Hastings. They begin housekeeping in Newberg Twp where they lived a short time, and on account of the prevalence of fever and ague, they moved to Wisconsin near the present city of Fall River. They remained there but a short time when they moved to Ohio where they lived a few years when they returned to Michigan, locating near their first home. In 1882, thinking that possibly health conditions would be better north, he moved to Mancelona, Antrim Co., where his two sons Samuel and Elgin and one brother still live. In the fall he bought a home in Plainwell until 1894 when he sold and moved to near Eaton Rapids, near which place his dau[ghter] Ada B Chapman Foot soon located, and it was at her home where he died Feb 19, 1909 ae 82y 6m 14d. On the 22nd he was taken to the Newberg Cem, where 3 brothers, his wife, one dau Emma and many friends & relatives are buried." Ann Faulkner | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
