Franklin H. Chapman was born in Medina County, Ohio, Dec 27, 1827 and died at his home in West Union Friday evening at the age of 79 years.
In 1842 he removed with his parents to Wisconsin, and in 1852 was married to Miss Caroline West. The following year, 1853, he removed to Fayette Co., where he has resided eer since, with the exception of 3 years spent in Georgia. In Jan, 1899 his wife died and in 1900 he was married to Mrs. Harriet Webb of this place, was who with four brothers and a grandson, mourn his death.
Mr. Chapman was converted at the age 14 and in 1850 united with the M.E. church, but after moving to Iowa he became a member of the Advent church, in which faith he lived and died.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. L. Young were held sunday afternoon at the U.B. church64
